Visual Artist

My visual work is developed along thematic lines, creating relationships between subject matter and specific works. Following the rules of dialectics, I engage in a discourse with my theme, with the resulting relationships evolving intuitively. This makes my work narrative in character. The themes are predominantly social or political, inspired by their ‘internal theatre‘.

These themes are evident in the titles of my works and installations, as well as in the titles of exhibitions I organize. Examples include Dein Schweigen fass ich, The Moment, and Der Tempo Mann.

I engage in a dialogue with the world around me and am extremely interested in history and politics, in particular, with the relationship between history and today’s reality.

In my studio, I work primarily on drawings and paintings. For exhibitions, I create installations that demonstrate the relationships between the works. I also refer to these installations as ‘stagings’.

I am primarily a painter, which is evident in my installations. Where needed, photographs and videos are also used in the installations.

I would describe my work as visually rich, varied, multi-layered and dynamic.
